Long time no see :) I have been up to some skunk-work that I will be showing something of later.


I have finished the first version of the unit AIs with target prioritization and "uncontrollable" behaviours as flight or fight. Depending on some factors the user will not always be able to control its units, like if they are fleeing in panic or overwhelmed by bloodlust.. 


The overall look also has gotten some upgrade. Next up will be to add some more sounds and animations and enable fighting.

2023-09-25

Added a fog effect to convey the boundaries to the playable area. I didn't actually expected it to look as good as it did so I'm quite happy about it!  The point of it is partly to convey the walkable area and partly to be able to hide the background stuff a bit to get away with putting simpler graphics in the background.

2023-09-05

Unit control and world navigation in place and tuned. Works really smooth, in my opinion at least 😁 - let's see what my harsh and cruel gametesters think! A lot effort has been put in how the units move and interact with the pathfinding. Not a super simple issue since units can start compete about a destination and push each other of grid and get stuck etc. However - its working really nice now and is easily extended. Next up will be buildings.

PS: Dont focus on the graphics - only placeholder world and unit design!

2023-08-01

Darkest Lord is in creaton. It is a TS TD Hero Slayer. A condensed rogue-lite strategy game where you will step into the role of a Dark Lord that is fighting to survive against hordes of attacking heroes, all while building dark wonders and accomplishing Deeds of the Dark!
